Hazel "Penny" Marie Chambers

Hazel “Penny” Marie Chambers, 78, of Greensboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Wesley Long Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at College Park Baptist Church, 1601 Walker Ave., Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am. Reverend Michael Usey will officiate.
Born in Wilkes County to the late James Clark Chambers & Callie Marie Chambers, she was a graduate of Greensboro Senior High School and then started her career with Southern Bell. She was a long-time member of College Park Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Penny was preceded in death by her sister, Gerry Gorichanaz, nephew, Keith Rhoades & niece, Kimberly Rhoades.
She is survived by her sister, Darcie Thompson & brother Gene Chambers as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to College Park Baptist Church, 1601 Walker Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403.
