Betti was among the first friends I met when my family moved to Greensboro and Starmount Forest the summer of 1957. We met in Sunday School and MYF at Christ Methodist Church – which was a new church at the time and was holding services at Sternberger Elementary School. Betti lived close by on Madison Avenue and kindly reached out to me, and I remember one day she called to invite me to the movies – we went to see Doris Day in “The Pajama Game” at the Carolina. I remember Betti’s New Year’s Eve party at her house that same year - middle of 8th grade, and our first year at Kiser – and how much fun we had. I’m sure many of you were there, too.
