GREENSBORO Kate Fowler Foster age 73 passed away at Beacon Place on November 17, 2016 after a brief illness. She was a lifelong native of Greensboro, a graduate of Greensboro Senior High School and attended Elon College. She was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ. As a 35 year employee of Belk Friendly she enjoyed special friendships with many loyal customers. In that role, she enriched the lives of others with her smile, warmth and patience. She was loved and cherished by many.She was predeceased by her father John R. Foster and her mother Jessie B. Foster. She is survived by her brother, Robert Bridgers Foster and sister Nancy Battle Foster.In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Greensboro Beautiful 1001 Fourth St. Greensboro, NC 27405, Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave. Greensboro, NC 27405 and Happy Hills Animal Foundation 3143 Happy Hills Drive, Staley, NC 27355.There will be a private family graveside service. A memorial service will be held on December 6, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Congregational United Church of Christ.The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of 5th floor east Wesley Long Hospital and Beacon Place.
